Occupations of People
Dayo,Sanghar, Kalhora, Kalwar, Lakhan, Kolachi, Channa etc. The Ghotkians are predominantly engaged in the agriculture, their other occupations include business, trade, skilled and unskilled labour, medical, engineering, legal and financial fields and governmental and private services. Technically they are extremely poor. They know only few skills. It's because of their technical poverty that the people other than the Ghotkians largely manage the gas fields of OGDC, Qadirpur.

Hobbies of People
The law and order situations in the city being unsatisfactory since long have confined the Ghotkians to limited hobbies. In Entire City there is no constantly running/functioning sports club for the citizens. In the city a long time close club was renovated and restarted but it could not attract the people. Certain people have established badminton course in around their houses where number of people play badminton. Cricket, Football, volleyball, Kodi-Kodi and badminton are the favourite games of the Ghotkians and are usually played by several people. Some people are also associated with Weight Lifting and Boxing. There is no place in the city for the entertainment for the general public with exception of a cinema and a Small Park where people bring their children on holidays and villagers take rest when they come to the city for shopping. Several people waste their time uselessly in tea-hotels, watching TV, Dish, taking tea and discussing worthless issues.
Festivals of People
As Ghotki is mixture of many races, so there are also many festivals, fairs and other activities of this kind in the city. Sain Chandu Ram also built a temple that is today called Big-Temple of Ghotki. A Fair is held at every Green Friday (first Friday after appearance of new moon) at this temple. Hindus of Ghotki go to visit Dewri Saahab on every Friday.

Momal- Ji- Mari is the fortress at the distance of about 15 kilometer from the Ghotki town in the village known as "Mathelo". It is believed that in the year 536 B.C. in the earth-quake Mathelo town ruined along with other small towns of the Sindh. Iranian King Dara-II partly reconstructed the Mathelo. Mathelo fortress was reconstructed in 650 A.D. in the days of Rai Dynasty. During the days of Soomras (from 1051 to 1351 A.D. this family ruled Sindh) Raja Nand Gujar Rajput ruled the northern Sindh, whose capital was Mathelo. Here is the picture, in which Syed Akhtar Shah Bukhari (Chief Editor of Weekly Parahphuti) and Mr. Abdul Majeed (Field Manager of OGDCL Qadirpur) are visiting Momal - ji - Mari.
Raja Nand has nine daughters, from them "Soomal" was most intelligent and wisest and "Moomal" was the most beautiful. The Soomra ruler Hamir was keen to marry Moomal but Moomal loved Rano, the minister of Hamir. When Hamir came to know this he invaded Mathelo to take revenge of his insult. In the result of it Mathelo town and its historical fortress got completely destroyed. In the record of department of archeology this fortress is entered under the name of Momal - Ji - Mari and it is described as protected monument. (Referred from "Nai Zindagi" May, 1992).
